Enhanced Global Edit

Global Edit is a powerful administrator feature in Maximizer CRM which (among other things) helps you manage, clean and maintain data so that you can rely on the power of the information you hold. The Global Edit in Maximizer CRM 2019 now supports changing the process and stage in Opportunities as well as changing the territory in the Address Book. Global editing in the Opportunities module also supports the Process and Stage fields. These two fields need to be edited together and selecting one field in the Field Picker will add both fields into the Global Edit dialogue. You will need to select a process and then select a stage, after which Maximizer will then process your Global Edit in the background, allowing you to continue working whilst the data is being updated.

You may want to standardise the name of a place because users may been putting in a mixture of, say Stellies and Stellenbosch, for example and it becomes difficult to search on and is not all that professional when sending out mailshots. You may also want to add a User Defined Field to perhaps a thousand people who will get your newsletter and be able to bring them up in a Search. Perhaps you will also want to standardise the Objectives in a number of Opportunities to get some standard reporting. Or remove a UDF item from some but not all of the records, whether they are an Opportunity, Contact, Customer Service Case or a Company. In Maximizer CRM you can do any of these by using the ‘Global Edit’ function.

Maximizer’s Global Edit can literally save you hours of changing records individually and is a boon to anyone ‘cleaning’ data in the system. It is extremely powerful and should only be used by people who have an excellent understanding of not only Maximizer but also the data. It is recommended that before you embark on a series of changes that you ‘back up’ the database; this doesn’t take long but could save you a lot of grief if things don’t go quite the way you planned! Global Edit is a key tool in your armoury to obtain accurate data quickly when used properly.
